How are you all doing? Woahaha..

Yes… I know I know.. this blog has been collecting dust and dying off slowly. Do you know that, I haven’t been touching my camera for a long long time already? In fact, most of my shots are now taken using my Nokia big-ass-businessman phone E71.

If you think that the reason why I’ve abandoned this blog for so long is due to my son UltraBen. YOU’RE RIGHT! Woahahha

He is now 6 months ++ and growing up pretty well. Lately he just started his solid food intake and also learning how to crawl and sit. So, as a father.. I’ve been so busy whenever I’m at home spending whatever time I have with him. For me and Mrs Mayat, we do not have the luxury of our parents to help around taking care of UltraBen.

The usual weekday ritual is like this:

6:00am : Wake up and feed UltraBen his breakfast

7:15an : Leave home and send him to Baby Sitter

3:00pm : Mrs Mayat picks him up from Baby Sitter

6:00pm : Reach home and cook dinner, sometimes, take UltraBen down to the pool for a quick swim

7:00pm : Clean up and bath

8:00pm : Play with UltraBen

9:00pm : Feed UltraBen and put him down to sleep

Wah…. can be very tiring you know! Both of us are working to become a High Income Family (LOL) so lots of sacrifices need to be made. Yes, my photography is one of them so it’ll take a back seat for now. My D50 with 20mm F/2.8, 18-105mm VR, SB800 and SB600 should be seeing more action. Ha ha… sometimes feel kesian for them. Should I sell them leh? I also don’t know.. you tell me.

Nevertheless, Loctor Mayat is still around and is still very active online. In fact, if you are one of my friends in Facebook you’d see that everyday I will be there posting something laa.. haha.. don’t worry.. all online activities certified by UltraBen himself:

WOAHHAHAHA…

Another thing, for some strange reasons, lately I’ve developed a keen interest in home renovation/design/furnishing. I’ve done some upgrades to my rumah mayat and added some new furniture. In fact, not long ago I did another suicide day-trip down to the Swedish Embassy of Malaysia and got more than RM1k++ of stuff…

WOAHHAHA !!!

Sorry.. I don’t have so much free time to post how I set it up and all that review as I used to before.

but hor, I’ve been thinking that one day, I should document and blog down all about my upcoming home furnishing/design progress update. Maybe not now… perhaps… in 3 years time ;)

Kekeke

till then… please add me in Facebook.. look for ‘Loctor Mayat’ and I’m there. I approve all friend request one so do it now lah!

Kamsiah kamsiah..

Full Month already~! Woot!!

Well well well… I have to agree, this blog has been growing cobwebs already due to lack of updates lately. Ha ha… well please don’t blame me, UltraBen is growing up extremely fast and both Mrs Mayat and myself are trying very hard and putting lots of effort (a.k.a sleepless nights) trying to meet his demands and schedule.

Nevertheless, I am not complaining and I feel that it is a very humbling experience being a dad. It is also a very fun experience too because it’s not long that I found out that UltraBen likes to pang phooi and pang sai a lot too. WOAHAHHAHA

Actually, today was the Full Moon and Thanksgiving celebration of my dear UltraBen. I invited about 90++ of my closest friends, relatives and church members to my apartment to have a simple luncheon and also to open my house for visit since I’ve never really invited anybody to visit us ever since we moved in about 3 years ago. LOL~!!!

The guests started trickling in slowly by noon and about half an hour later, everybody took their seat and I gave a brief introduction to my dear UltraBen and showed some funny photos of him and myself. LOL…

Then, I invited the church elder to say a thanksgiving prayer and after that, everybody helped themselves to the buffet. The food was actually quite good and it’s not very expensive too. Of course, by Penang-kia standard, expensive is always a relative term. …… relative to the amount of Ang Pow received. HAHAHAHAHA

The guests came over to see UltraBen and take photos of/with him but that little boy, he just dozed off throughout the event. Not even the loud talking and laughing of the guests could wake him up. Hahaha…

Nevertheless, UltraBen’s great grandmother got to see him and she is very happy. This great grandmother shall be celebrating her 80th birthday this year and all of us will be going over to some resort to celebrate it. It’s gonna be fun!

By 3pm, all the guests went back with their stomach full and my dear parents helped to clean up the rented hall downstairs and we also bid farewell to Mrs Mayat’s parents as they need to make their way back to Tangjung Malim/Banting by evening.

About 2 hours later, I got a call from the Miss Purple Lady a.k.a Super Model for Kiamsiap™ 3×6 Diffuser Taiping Edition. She and her fiance was so kind enough to drop by our home to visit UltraBen on their journey back from Perlis to Kulim. Woah…

The farnee thing is, Miss Purple Lady is trying hard to learn how to hold a baby correctly and when I passed UltraBen to her arms, she froze and her arms went stiff. Ha ha ha… !

After a while, she relaxed and UltraBen started to get cheesy with her….

aifa-benji

WOAHAHHAHAH….

Few years down the road, I’m gonna show UltraBen this photo again and tease him. LOL!!

Anyhow, that’s my life so far for 1 month with UltraBen. Mrs Mayat will continue taking care of him until her 2 months maternity is up (which coincidentally, is after Chinese New Year). By then, I will have more free time to continue shoot more photos and organize some outings liao.

For now, I’m just gonna stay at home and pass down my PhotoShop™ skills to my ‘disciple’. WOAHHAHAHA

The Birth of UltraBen

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

So so so…. by now most of you already got to know about the birth of my 1st son through my SMS as well as my facebook updates (what? you still haven’t added me?). Well.. here is what happened on that fateful Saturday morning.

Around 4am last Saturday, Mrs Mayat woke up suddenly and had a feeling of want to go pangsai. After trying for several minutes, nothing came out and she felt pain at her stomach from the back all the way to the front just under the big belly.

At first I thought of nothing much (who thinks of anything at 4am anyway?) and asked her to rest and drink some warm water. Then, within an hour the pain came again and this time, I picked up my phone and started recording the time her pain attacks happen.

The pain came on and off and i still remember the first thing she said, “Why come out so early laa?”

Hahahhha

I got out from bed around 7am and made myself breakfast and a cup of decaffeinated coffee with stolen McDonalds creamer and one teaspoon of gula prai. Wah… damn nice. Breakfast was Gardenia Toast ‘Em butterscotch which is actually a very expensive loaf of bread but oh yeah.. it’s very nice especially if eaten with kaya. Mmm…

oh… where was I ah?

….

Yaa…… so… while I was having my breakfast Mrs Mayat went to have a shower and got herself ready. Around 8am we reached the hospital and her gynecologist quickly checked her condition.

The doctor came out and told me, “It’s today mate. Open 5cm already. Within 1 or 2 hours your baby will come out”

WOW~!!! I felt extremely excited but calm. First thing I did was to go down and paid the deposit which is actually A LOT OF MONEY. After everything is settled, I quickly went to the labour room and saw that Mrs Mayat was already in her hospital clothes with a gas mask over her face.

The doctor asked me to make the decision of whether to use epidural on her or not else it will be too late already. I quickly discussed with Mrs Mayat..

“Dear.. you’ve already endured the pain from 4am… and it’s just like the pangsai stomach-ache kind of pain right”

** nod head **

“Well… why don’t we try all natural birth today?”

** look at me with worried eyes **

“Okay okay… Epidural expensive laa”

*** SLAP ~!!! ***

WOAHHAHAHAHHAHA~! KIAMSIAP nya~~~

But anyhow, we finally decided to skip the epidural and just go with Au Naturel delivery.

Finally, the moment came and the doctor mentioned that the baby’s head is already at the opening… then the first wave of contraction came and everybody in the room screamed:

“YAA!!! PUSH NOW!!! JUST LIKE SQUEEZE YOUR PANGSAI!!! GO GO GO~!!!”

“HOLD YOUR BREATH AND PUSH!!!!”

“PUSH AH PUSH AH!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!”

but Mrs couldn’t make it… .LOL….

It went on until the 3rd push and the Doctor said… “THIS IS IT!!!”

and with some Kuasa Sakti Tenaga Dewa Alam Planet Ultra…. Mrs Mayat gave a final push and *PLOP~~*… Little Baby Loctor came out and immediately started crying.

And there I was… standing there and witnessing everything. It was very shocking and painful to see it but at the same time, I felt humbled in that few seconds when I first laid eyes on my son. It was so touching I almost fainted.

After snipping off the umbilical cord, the matron took the baby and asked me to join her, while the doctor helped Mrs Mayat to deliver the placenta, clean up her wound and stitch her up.

The matron cleaned up Little Baby Loctor and said. “Okay.. now you can take photo!”

… and so I did..

Ha ha.. my little boy… he was measured 46cm tall and 2.5KG. Not bad .. not bad….

After the doctor was done, the nurse wrapped up Little Baby Loctor and brought her to see Mrs Mayat… it was the first time both mother and child got bonded together and I quickly snapped a photo too … kekeke

benji_02

*sorry… Mrs Mayat don’t allow people to see her half-dead face in my blog*

After staying overnight and checking both mother and baby were okay, we discharged from the hospital and went straight to the confinement center a.k.a PapaMayat’s house. My mother was all ready to perform confinement duties.

Within that day, all of us finalized on Little Baby Loctor’s name and from now on, in this blog I shall refer him as UltraBen. I got his birth registered quickly and got hold of the birth certificate within a couple of days.

UltraBen settled in PapaMayat’s house very quickly too…

Maybe it’s because he has BearBear#1 to watch over him while he’s sleeping..

benji_03

benji_05

Or… maybe he felt safe because the very old but not senile Robert H. Johnson was watching over him too…

benji_04

WOAHAHHAHA…!!

My ‘Ultra-Fatherly Instincts’ kicked in and within minutes, I learnt how to change diapers, clean up UltraBen’s pangsai, prepare the milk, bathe him and how to sooth him to sleep. Hahaha… I guess, when it happens to you, you will know how to do it one no matter how hard it is.

Okay la.. I also don’t wanna talk so much already… here is THE LAST photo of myself and UltraBen without the mask on. Hopefully you guys can remember how he look like in the many years to come…

In the future… this is what you’ll be seeing more often…

WOAHAHHAHAHHAAHA~~!!

Another mindless bla bla bla…

Hooo boy.. well lookie at my last post… November 30th~!

I guess I must have been really busy with the ongoing in my life right now. So what is happening actually?

Currently I’m in my last month at my current department at work and slowly transitioning my responsibilities to my very capable juniors. There are still some teething issues to solve but I’m pretty sure everything will be fine by the time I leave this group to join another department in Penang. Yeah, next year onwards I’ll be working in the Paper Mill’s Bayan Lepas plant, doing something totally different from what I’ve been doing for the past 8 years or so. It will be challenging but it will be exciting as well (I hope!). Ha ha ha! I still have 6 years++ worth of junk to pack and I’m taking it slowly. Currently I’m enjoying whatever time I have left here.

As for the family side, Mrs Mayat has now reached the 37th week of her pregnancy and Little Loctor will be coming into Planet Ultra anytime now. Thank goodness currently she is having her school holidays so she can prepare and have all the rest she can. Of course I am excited and yeah I am financially ready as well. I don’t need those “This is just the beginning” type of comments because I’m not that poor. LOL~! I’m just Kiamsiap™.

Ha ha ha.. speaking of being Kiamsiap™, thanks to the paper mill colleague’s suggestion, she asked me to go to those diapers website and check out whether they give out free samples or not. With that, I don’t have to spend to buy the diapers needed on Little Loctor’s first few days….

Well… a click here and some typing there…. within a week this came in my postbox:

mamy

WOahahhaha…. 2 pieces of Mamy Poko diapers for newborn… well, of course 2 only not enough la… so we’ve got to get more. Thanks to the paper mill factory again, I got some free shopping vouchers given by the management for excellent work done on doing nothing throughout the year. So, with those vouchers, I went out and got this too:

petpet

Woahahhaha…. so Kiamsiap™.

Anyhow, not long ago me and Mrs Mayat were strolling inside a nearby mall where we discovered a new cafe which serves cheap and simple meals. You know, like one of those several Old Town Kopitiam type of cafe?

Well.. since it’s new and we like surprises when it comes to food, we thought of giving it a go to see how it goes. Who knows we might stumble into a new food gem.

Oh yeah.. what a big surprise it was when the waitress passed us the food menu:

smelly_01

I almost laughed my ass off on the spot when I saw ‘Sweet and Smelly Pork Rice’. What the heck?

When I looked at the set meal menu, I was even more dumbfounded and almost can’t hold back my laughter..

smelly_02

WHAT IN THE WORLD???

Okay.. for goodness sake, boys and girls from young to old. No matter whatever it is, ENGLISH IS DAMN IMPORTANT laa…. hahahhaha.

How can you ask people to eat ‘Sweet & Smelly Pork Rice’ ????

So, anyhow, being the hero that I am, I bravely ordered the ‘Sweet and Smelly Chicken Rice’. After a few minutes of waiting, the food arrived and I finally understand the problem…

smelly_03

Woa Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha~!!

What ‘Sweet & Smelly’ laa???? It’s Kam Heong style cooking. Sweet and FRAGRANT laa for goodness sake.

Anyhow, this meal costs me RM3.80 which is rather okay for Penang standard. However, the food is nothing to shout about and maybe you’re already full when you first saw the menu. LOL~!!

So, anyhow, this is what I wanna say for now.

Thanks in advance for your well wishes with regards to Little Loctor. I shall post in detail about his delivery and of course the very first photo of him. Oooo… so excited!
