How are you all doing? Woahaha..

Yes… I know I know.. this blog has been collecting dust and dying off slowly. Do you know that, I haven’t been touching my camera for a long long time already? In fact, most of my shots are now taken using my Nokia big-ass-businessman phone E71.

If you think that the reason why I’ve abandoned this blog for so long is due to my son UltraBen. YOU’RE RIGHT! Woahahha

He is now 6 months ++ and growing up pretty well. Lately he just started his solid food intake and also learning how to crawl and sit. So, as a father.. I’ve been so busy whenever I’m at home spending whatever time I have with him. For me and Mrs Mayat, we do not have the luxury of our parents to help around taking care of UltraBen.

The usual weekday ritual is like this:

6:00am : Wake up and feed UltraBen his breakfast

7:15an : Leave home and send him to Baby Sitter

3:00pm : Mrs Mayat picks him up from Baby Sitter

6:00pm : Reach home and cook dinner, sometimes, take UltraBen down to the pool for a quick swim

7:00pm : Clean up and bath

8:00pm : Play with UltraBen

9:00pm : Feed UltraBen and put him down to sleep

Wah…. can be very tiring you know! Both of us are working to become a High Income Family (LOL) so lots of sacrifices need to be made. Yes, my photography is one of them so it’ll take a back seat for now. My D50 with 20mm F/2.8, 18-105mm VR, SB800 and SB600 should be seeing more action. Ha ha… sometimes feel kesian for them. Should I sell them leh? I also don’t know.. you tell me.

Nevertheless, Loctor Mayat is still around and is still very active online. In fact, if you are one of my friends in Facebook you’d see that everyday I will be there posting something laa.. haha.. don’t worry.. all online activities certified by UltraBen himself:

WOAHHAHAHA…

Another thing, for some strange reasons, lately I’ve developed a keen interest in home renovation/design/furnishing. I’ve done some upgrades to my rumah mayat and added some new furniture. In fact, not long ago I did another suicide day-trip down to the Swedish Embassy of Malaysia and got more than RM1k++ of stuff…

WOAHHAHA !!!

Sorry.. I don’t have so much free time to post how I set it up and all that review as I used to before.

but hor, I’ve been thinking that one day, I should document and blog down all about my upcoming home furnishing/design progress update. Maybe not now… perhaps… in 3 years time ;)

Kekeke

till then… please add me in Facebook.. look for ‘Loctor Mayat’ and I’m there. I approve all friend request one so do it now lah!

Kamsiah kamsiah..

Big Sale~!

Kena Table!

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

During Chinese New Year, I have been doing nothing except to watch the whole of Heroes Season 1. Yeah.. I am SLOW okay? I don’t have ASStro la…. so have to ’share’ via the popular means laa.. kekeke

So on the third day of Chinese New Year (which is actually yesterday) me and Mrs Mayat headed down to PeeJay again to just ‘look-see look-see’ la. Also, I am supposed to meet up with Weezy as she is buying my very unused Canon Selphy photo printer. Unfortunately, Mrs Mayat was down with cough, flu and slight fever. Ah.. too much bak gua I guess.. ha ha..

After meeting up with Weezy and having a chat with her, I went for lunch with Mrs Mayat at this restaurant called ‘The Apartment’. Wah…. damn shiok! They got bed as seats. Mrs Mayat lied down on the bed directly to rest while I ordered our food and looked around. Ha ha..

(Oh… btw… I didn’t bring my camera along for this trip la. Nothing else to shoot liao I guess. Wahahha)

After makan, Mrs Mayat felt much better and we went to IKEA to look-see look-see. After RM550++ poorer, we came back home with two BIG boxes. Ha ha ha…

Speaking of travelling, this time we started our journey back home to Penang late at night. We departed from Tangjung Malim at 9:30pm and reached home around 12:40am, just because there is a RM3.20 discount on the toll charges from Jelapang to Juru. WOAHAHAHHAAHHA… damn kiamsiap.

Well… what did we buy leh?

Firstly…. let me introduce to you… my old writing table:

This table has been serving me ever since I was in primary school. I studied my UPSR, PMR and SPM on this very same table and when I moved into my own home, I even took it along. Ha ha…

Since I started working I stopped ‘writing’. As in, my line of work and hobby does not give me much chance to even hold a pen. LOL…. from pens and pencils I moved on to be a keyboard champion. So since Mrs Mayat still need to write a lot especially considering her line of work, I passed on the table to her.

However, you’ll have to agree with me that… it’s an eyesore la. I mean… I LOVE free things (as in this case, writing table)… but… I felt that after so long using it, It’s time to eventually move on and ‘upgrade’. In addition to that, there’s just not enough space to put all of Mrs Mayat’s things. (Actually, most of them are rubbish LOL!)

So.. firstly, I assembled the IKEA LEKMAN box that will temporarily keep the junk from the old table.

Assembling any IKEA stuff is really a no-brainer work. Just follow the wordless instructions and you’ll be fine. I don’t know why some of my friends told me they find it so hard to assemble IKEA stuff. Maybe Weezy was right, I loved to play with LEGO bricks when I was little. So fixing things up is almost second nature to me. Ha ha ha….

Within a minute, the box is completed and ready to be filled with Mrs Mayat’s junk:

So… I cleared the stuff off the old table…

Then I moved the table away to the living room, ready to be transported back to my parents’ home.

After vacuuming and mopping the floor, Mrs Mayat suddenly told me she felt hungry so I dropped everything and took her to Raja Uda to eat Koay Teow Thng while I enjoyed 3 pieces of Popiah and a cup of Kopi O. Ha ha ha….

When we came back, I brought in the first box…

This thing looks like a Coffin! Ha ha ha… I certain weigh like one! DAMN HEAVY. If I was caught speeding on my way back from PJ, I would tell Enchik Polis,

“Tuan…. sorry… saya tengah bawa saudara ke kubur laa…”

WOAHAHAHAHAHA

Anyways, opening up revealed the bookshelf that I need to assemble:

It’s the EXPEDIT bookshelf that is currently selling for RM299. Extremely cheap I’ll say, considering the other furniture shops locally that sells almost the same thing for RM599 or RM699.

So, I slowly took out the pieces of wood and started transforming the package from coffin to something useful…

After almost 30 minutes of whacking, pushing, kicking and banging on the wood panels… I finally got the whole thing up.

TAAADA~!

My favourite “mental-institution white” color IKEA EXPEDIT bookshelf.

The LEKMAN box fits into the shelf perfectly. That’s what I like about the stuff at IKEA. Everything and anything seems to fit together nicely…

After that, it was time to finish up the day with the last package we brought home:

It’s the EXPEDIT table attachment which converts the bookshelf into a writing table. Just two big pieces of wood but it involved some serious screwing in tight places:

Luckily that’s the easiest part to assemble…. after cleaning up and vacuuming up the sawdusts in the room, Mrs Mayat’s new writing table it READY…

WOOT WOOT!!! So nice laa…. I like it so much.

The four shelves at the bottom of the table can be used to keep to stuff that Mrs Mayat don’t use oftenly while the upper shelves can keep her frequently used books, stationaries, and even a table lamp. The writing space is so much bigger compared to the older one and it feels BIG when I sat at the table.

FOOOSH~! SHIOK NYER!!!

Next up I would like to get some of those drawer inserts, more boxes, table lamp or maybe a better chair for Mrs Mayat. Hmm….. more One Day Trip to IKEA perhaps?

WOAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA
